I’d like to get some input from you. I am currently building a new mobile app to make it convenient for you to find the closest dry cleaners and drop-off/pick up your clothes. It’s in beta mode right now and I’m looking for some early feedback. If you want to try it out, head to the website or search “Dry Cleaners Near Me” on the iOS App Store (Android is coming soon).
What Was Your Biggest Pet Peeve About The Dry Cleaning Service You Used to Use? What do you hate about your old dry cleaner that you wish someone would invent so we could get it now?
In order to help us make our service better, please tell us something you HATE about your old dry cleaner or something you REALLY wish they had so you could use them more often?
I’m a firm believer in having someone else do the work for me, and I’ve been doing that with my dry cleaning for years. But I’ve had to switch dry cleaners a few times because of various issues that came up. Here are my biggest pet peeves about dry cleaners, and what I look for in a dry cleaner:
1. They have to have a good location. I’m willing to go a little out of my way for the perfect dry cleaner, but not much. If their location is inconvenient or hidden away, I’ll go somewhere easier to find.
2. They have to be open long enough. One of my old dry cleaners was only open Monday through Friday – not good enough when you’re too busy to get your clothes in on time!
3. They need to be open when it’s convenient for me, which means weekends as well as weekdays.
4. Their prices need to be reasonable.
5. The staff needs to be friendly and helpful without being pushy – they should let me know if there’s anything wrong with my clothes without pressuring me into buying extra services.
I hated the fact that I had to go out of my way to drop off my clothes at the dry cleaner, then return again on a later date to pick them up.
I wish someone would invent a way for me to drop off my clothes at one location, and pick up at another.
Something like this would be great:
1. I call in an order for cleaning and press “2” for pickup. The rep answers with “How can I help you?”
2. I explain that I need to drop off some clothes at one location and have them picked up at another.
3. The rep says something like, “Okay, let’s get you set up.” They then ask me where I will be dropping off my clothes, and where I’d like them picked up.
4. They tell me that they’ve got the first part of my order ready, which is a bag in which I will place the clothes that need to be cleaned. This bag has a bar code that identifies it as belonging to me and contains instructions for how/when/where it should be picked up from my location (and dropped off at their store.)
5. The rep tells me that they’ve also got a second bag ready for me to place the
I feel like I have to drive out of my way just to get to my dry cleaner.
I want a dry cleaner located near me so I don’t have to drive all the way across town.
I want a dry cleaner that can make it flexible for me so I can drop off and pick up quickly and easily.
The longer it takes for me to drop off and pick up my clothes, the less likely I am to dry clean them since it is such an inconvenience.
I want a dry cleaning service that makes me feel like they know who I am and they care about the clothes I give to them.
Other than that, the only thing I would change is if they could charge less money!
I think the biggest one was…I mean it’s tough to get rid of the stains on your white shirt. I always did wish that there was a way to get them out. That would be great!
