For those who don’t know, our family lives full-time in a travel trailer. We are often asked why we would do such a thing. The answer is simple: to live the life we want to live on the road and in nature, and to spend more time with our kids.
But what many people don’t realize is that living “tiny” requires making some significant compromises. For instance, not having space for a dishwasher.

Most people are not aware that you can buy a dishwasher for your RV. If you have never used one in an RV before, you may not see why you would want one either. But here are some good reasons to get one for your recreational vehicle:
1. It is convenient! If you have ever had to wash dishes in a camper or trailer, then you know just how inconvenient it can be. You have to stop what you are doing, make sure that there is enough room in the sink and try to find all of the right cleaning supplies so that you can get the job done. A dishwasher makes getting your dishes clean much easier, as all you have to do is load them into the unit and start it up. No bending over a small sink or trying to scrub off tough food stains by hand.
2. It saves on water usage – when using an RV dishwasher, you will not be
Sure, doing dishes by hand may seem cheaper, or more environmentally friendly – but RVers are a different breed. They don’t have time for such nonsense!
Most RVers have an aversion to doing dishes the old fashioned way. That’s why they bought an RV dishwasher and will never go back. The convenience of an RV dishwasher is second to none and we’ve put together some reasons why it will change your life:

When we bought our first RV, I never thought we’d need an RV dishwasher. As a full-time RVer, I had no experience with the space savers that can make our lives much more convenient. I guess in my mind, I figured it was just one more thing to break down on the road. But when you’re living in a small space, it’s all about convenience and making your life easier. That’s why we decided to buy an rv dishwasher for our fifth wheel.
RV Dishwasher: I am happy to announce that we have a new dishwasher installed in our RV (see updated photo above). It has been a long time coming and we are excited about the convenience it provides for us. We chose to go with an 18 inch model from Danby, which is a countertop model. We have researched a lot of different models and feel this one is the best choice for our needs.
The main reason we decided to get an RV dishwasher is because we love to entertain. Having people over for dinner parties is something we do often while on the road, but it also puts a damper on our day after everyone leaves due to all of the cleanup involved.
We were hoping that having a dishwasher would help with this and it definitely does! We can now finish up dinner and enjoy some wine with our guests, then load up the dishwasher when everyone leaves. With an 18 inch model like ours, you can fit up to eight place settings plus serving dishes inside. We are very pleased with this feature and find that it works great for us.
