“The most important step you can take toward a clean kitchen is to clear the racks of your commercial dishwasher. If you don’t clean your commercial dishwashing machine regularly, the risk of bacterial buildup, cross-contamination, and foodborne illness increases.

We’ve written in the past about how to keep your kitchen clear of pests and other unsanitary conditions. In this post, we want to discuss best practices for keeping your commercial dishwasher clear and clean.

Here are some tips from our team:

1) Remove all dishes from the dishwasher prior to cleaning

2) Take out all trays, racks, and large equipment.

3) Cleaning with a solution of bleach or vinegar will help kill bacteria

4) Wipe down all surfaces with a sponge or cloth.”

A commercial dishwasher is a big investment. They will eventually pay for themselves with the labor they save, but they are expensive to buy and install. Commercial kitchens should do everything they can to protect that investment.

One of the biggest mistakes commercial kitchens make is piling dishes in the racks. This is understandable: When you’re busy, it’s tempting to stack plates higher and higher, so you can fit more into the dishwasher at once. But if the stack gets too high, it could fall over and break during the wash cycle.

The problem with this is twofold. First, broken dishes have to be replaced out of pocket. But beyond that, broken glass and china can damage your racks, especially during the high-temperature wash cycles of some industrial dishwashers. Damaged racks mean your dishwasher won’t be able to clean as effectively, and your staff will have to take more time scraping stuck-on food off plates before they go into the machine.

New racks are expensive–they cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars apiece. So save yourself some money by avoiding damage in the first place: Don’t overload your racks!

Utilizing a commercial dishwasher to clean your restaurant’s dishes is more efficient than hand washing. But what if you have racks of dirty dishes that won’t fit?

If your warewashing machine has racks of dirty dishes that won’t fit, try these tips to clean up the racks and get them into the machine:

Stagger Pots and Pans

Pots, pans, and large containers should be placed in the bottom rack with their handles facing the outside edges of the rack. This allows maximum water contact with all parts of the items. Staggering pots and pans will also help to provide even space throughout the entire rack.

Try Baskets

Most commercial dishwashers include at least one piece of flatware perforated basket that can be used for additional cleaning power. This is a great way to tackle extra plates or other flatware items that won’t fit in the machine.

All commercial dishwashers are not created equal. If you want the very best in commercial dishwashing equipment, look no further than Hobart. With a full line of heavy duty and light duty dishwashers, Hobart has the added bonus of being one of the most cost effective lines available.

Hobart also provides a full line of accessories to help you keep your kitchen running as smoothly as possible. Whether you’re looking for undercounter dishwashers or conveyor dishwashers, Hobart can help you find the right fit for your needs.

A little maintenance goes a long way toward keeping your Hobart running smoothly and doing its job well. That’s why we offer this selection of helpful hints on how to keep your Hobart commercial dishwasher in tip-top shape.

Be sure to thoroughly rinse off all of the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Use a good amount of hot water, and add a little bit of soap. The soapy water will help to remove additional food particles that are stuck to the dishware. If you’re using a lot of plates, bowls, and mugs that have food leftovers on them, be sure to scrape the food into the garbage can before adding them to the dishwasher.

Once you have rinsed off your dishes, you should place the clean dishes onto plastic-coated racks inside of your commercial dishwasher. You should try to match up similar sized items so that they are close together on the racks for optimal cleaning. This will also help to prevent small items from slipping through holes in the racks and allowing them to get battered or broken during the cleaning process.

Before closing the door on your commercial dishwasher, open it up again and check that everything is properly positioned. Be sure that all of the arms inside are able to rotate freely without hitting any dishes or silverware that might be in their way. Check for any silverware or other item that may be resting against or near the door seal; this could prevent proper closure and result in leaks during operation, which could

The term “commercial dishwasher” is ambiguous. It can mean:

* a dishwashing machine designed for commercial use, or a dishwashing machine that has been designated for commercial use (typically in the home).

Most restaurants use commercial dishwashers to clean their dishes and cookware after every service. The term “commercial dishwasher” is also sometimes used to describe a device used by a restaurant to clean its dishes but which is not itself designated as “commercial”. For example, many restaurants use home-style dishwashers to clean plates, glasses and pots and pans, even though these items are not intended for use in the home.

Although it may seem counterintuitive, many restaurants actually prefer to use commercial dishwashers because they are less expensive than home-style dishwashers. In addition, commercial dishwashers often have higher capacity and more efficient cleaning systems than home-style dishwashers. As such, they might be better suited for cleaning large quantities of dishes at one time.
