How to replace the spray arm on a lamona dishwasher

This step-by-step guide shows you how to replace the spray arm on your lamona dishwasher, so you can get your dishes sparkling and clean again.

You will need:

A new spray arm for your model of lamona dishwasher

A small flat screwdriver

A circuit tester (optional)

A Lamona dishwasher is an indispensable kitchen appliance that helps you get your dishes cleaned in a very fast and efficient manner. However, at times, the spray arm of your dishwasher might not function properly and hence it needs to be replaced.

In order to replace the spray arm of your Lamona dishwasher, you will first need to remove the bottom rack from the dishwasher. You will then need to use a screwdriver to unscrew the spray arm from the lower part of the tub. Once you have removed the screw and taken out the spray arm, you can replace it with a new one that you have purchased earlier. Once done with this, you will just need to reinstall the bottom rack back on your Lamona dishwasher.

Tools required

● Phillips head screwdriver

● Flat-head screwdriver

Step 1 – Remove the filter assembly

Remove the lower basket. To remove the filter assembly, use a flat-head screwdriver to gently prise off the centre cap from the bottom of the unit and lift out the filter assembly. You should then see two white clips underneath – use a flat-head screwdriver to release them both and remove these.

Before you start, make sure that the electricity supply and the water supply to your dishwasher is turned off.

Place a towel in the bottom of the dishwasher and loosen the screws at the base of the filter assembly using a Phillips screwdriver.

Carefully remove the filter assembly and place it in a container. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove all leftover food from inside the assembly. Do not clean or replace any other parts of the assembly at this time.

Remove any remaining water from inside your dishwasher by placing a large container on its floor and removing the drain hose where it connects to your waste pipe under your sink. Restoring power for a short period will help empty the appliance.

Turn off the electricity again and unscrew all four screws on each side of your dishwasher’s lower rack. Lift up the rack and disconnect any spray arm inlet pipes that are connected to it.

Pull out your old spray arm by lifting its top cap up slightly before turning anticlockwise. If you have difficulty replacing this item, check that there are no broken components or sharp edges present, which might be preventing it from turning smoothly. Reinforce or replace these as necessary using a screwdriver, pliers or a wrench before trying again. You may

1. Turn off the water supply to your dishwasher, this is normally located underneath your sink.

2. Unscrew the spray arm by turning it anti-clockwise until it is loose.

3. Check for any debris and remove if present then give a good rinse in warm soapy water.

4. Re-fit the spray arm by lining up the tabs on the underside of the spray arm with those on the inside of the dishwasher making sure that it is fully secured.

5. Turn the water supply back on to your dishwasher and re-run a cycle to make sure everything is working correctly.

1. Disconnect your dishwasher from the power supply.

2. Locate the spray arm in the base of the dishwasher (this is a plastic unit with multiple arms).

3. Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining clip that holds the spray arm in place and lift it out of the appliance.

4. Fit the new spray arm into place and secure with the retaining clip.

5. Reconnect your dishwasher to the power supply and run a short cycle to check that it works correctly.

1. Remove the lower dish rack.

2. Remove the spray arm screws that secure it to the pump body, using a suitable sized Allen key.

3. Pull off the spray arm from the pump body and replace with a new one.

4. Reattach the spray arm screws and re-fit the dish rack.
