Have you ever heard of “dishwasher-safe” dishes?

These are dishes you only have to wash once a year.

If you don’t believe it, I did a little experiment of my own.

I put a plate in the dishwasher, cleaned it with a normal cycle, and took it out.

Then I dried it and measured how much water was left on it.

The results?

An impressive 0.1%!

So, if you have a dishwasher and your kitchen is tiny, you can put all your dishes in there. You’ll save a lot of time!

Did you know you can clean a lot of your dishware once a year or even once every two years?

You’re probably thinking: ‘But I eat every day, so I have to wash my dishes every day!’ and you will be right. You will have to wash the dishes you use for eating every day. However, not all of your dishes are used equally. Some are used daily, others weekly and some even less than that. By doing a little bit of research on the proper care of different types of dishware, you can cut down on washing time significantly.

Below is a list of 8 types of dishes that (given they are not used daily) do not need to be washed as often as most people think

1. Glasses

2. Coffee Cups

3. Vacuum Flasks

4. Mugs

5. Jars & Bottles

6. Vases

7. Plates (except for egg plates)

8. Cutlery (forks and spoons)

If you’d like to save time and money on dishes, consider a dishwasher. If you’re in the market for a new dishwasher (or want to upgrade), Black Friday is the best day to buy one.

A good way to keep your dishes clean is to never use them. It sounds ridiculous, but hear us out.

You can make all kinds of meals with only one dish or pan. You can make pasta in one pot, stir-fry in one wok and rice in one bowl. While these are all great options, you can also cook:

Roasts

Pies

Casseroles

Soups

Stews

One-pot meals are some of the easiest ways to cook: You just throw everything into a pot or pan and let it simmer until dinner is done! Another bonus is that since the ingredients cook together for so long, the flavors merge and become even more amazing than if you had cooked each element individually.

1. Mugs

If you’ve ever had a dishwasher, you know how hard it can be to find a mug that fits in the slots. We found just the ones for you.

2. Dishes

Your dishes can go in the dishwasher, but when was the last time you washed them? They may even have been there since last Christmas! You should probably wash them before your next holiday meal.

3. Plates

The plates are the most important part of any meal; they hold your food and keep it from falling on the table (or floor). It’s important to keep them clean and free of bacteria, which is why we recommend washing them daily.

4. Bowls

Bowls come in many shapes and sizes. Some bowls are designed to be used as soup bowls while others are meant for cereal or salad. No matter what kind of bowl you have, it’s important that it gets washed regularly so food doesn’t get stuck inside and grow moldy over time.”
