30 Sep Reviews
When it comes to dishwashers, there are two types of people in the world: those who like things nice and simple, and those who like to make the best out of the latest innovations. Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS is a dishwasher best suited for the second category of people as it comes with a wide variety of cycles that allows the users to personalize each load of dishes according to their needs. This dishwasher can be acquired for $1,299, a justified price considering the many features that this unit comes with. Main Features The Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS dishwasher comes with 9 washing cycles: the auto wash cycle, the delicate cycle, the eco-wash cycle, the favorite cycle, the heavy cycle, the normal cycle, the perfect stemware cycle, the quick cycle and the rinse only cycle. Other interesting features that this dishwasher comes with is are the air dry option, the high-low pressure option, the high temperature wash option and the sanitize option certified by the NSF.  Most customers were very impressed with the stemware cycle, which leaves even the most delicate dishes spotless. The eco-wash cycle is also very usedull as it uses less time and water in order to deal with moderately soiled dishes. The dishwasher also has a 50.0 dB sound level. For some people, this is rather loud. Yes, this dishwasher is not completely silent, but if you consider the fact that the average conversation has a dB level of 65, it is safe to assume that this dishwasher won’t be a disturbance. Technical specifications In order to deliver an optimal efficiency, the Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS dishwasher uses state of the art technology which translates into sophisticated, patented specifications such as the AquaLux direct deliver wash system or the racks’ luxury glide system. The unit also comes with an adjustable rinse aid dispenser that features an indicator, a smart soil sensor, and 5 wash levels. In order to function properly, the dishwasher requires a standard 15-120 water pressure. Ease of use Despite the fact that it comes with many features, this dishwasher is not so hard to use. it comes with a fully integrated control panel that features the trademark wave touch controls. The controls are precise and their interface is quite user friendly. A great feature that most modern dishwashers come with is the delay start option that allows you to program the dishwasher to start at a given time (anywhere between 30 minutes and 24 hours). Certifications and consumption Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS is certified with the ENERGY STAR qualification but it is also certified by the NSF and Sabbath Mode. This means that this model was independently tested in order for it to be efficient both from a performance point of view and an energy consumption point of view.  During a normal cycle, the dishwasher uses about 4.9-8.5 gallons of water. The great thing about it is the fact that it can be programmed to start…

VERY GOOD

We like the Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS because it has a wide variety of cycles and options. However, it could have been more quiet.

Certifications and consumption

Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS is certified with the ENERGY STAR qualification but it is also certified by the NSF and Sabbath Mode. This means that this model was independently tested in order for it to be efficient both from a performance point of view and an energy consumption point of view.  During a normal cycle, the dishwasher uses about 4.9-8.5 gallons of water. The great thing about it is the fact that it can be programmed to start at a certain hour. Those of you who wish to save money should research the times of the day when water and energy are cheaper in your area. This  may come as a surprise for some of you, but utility costs really do have variable prices, depending on various times during a day. The eco-wash cycle can also be useful for people who wish to save money. After all, what’s the point of running lightly soiled dishes through a normal cycle, when you can run them through an Eco cycle, which takes less time and uses less water than the normal cycle. Overall, this dishwasher is estimated to cost a customer about $29 per year at an average 272 kilowatt hours per year.

Capacity

The dishwasher’s interior is not only spacious but ingeniously organized in order to fit as many dishes as possible. The Sure-2-Fit rack system is divided into a lower rack and an upper rack. The lower rack features a 3-piece splittable silverware basket, 4 champagne/stemware glass holders and a knife holder.  The upper rack features ergonomic rack holders, a versa tray and 4 cup clips. It also has adjustable height.

The Electrolux Wave Touch EWDW6505GS dishwasher has a convenient tall tub design. Its front, features a Soft-Arc door design. The unit weights 98 pounds and has the following dimensions:  23-3/4″ width X 24-5/8″ depth X 33-7/8″ height.  In order to comfortably fit in any kitchen, the unit comes with adjustable leveling legs. The overall design is modern and minimalist with a stainless steel finish. The unit is ideal for complementing most modern kitchen appliances.

Durability and warranty

Electrolux dishwashers are known to be quite durable since this is a top manufacturer in this industry. The unit is covered for the first year of use and so are most of its parts. As far as the racks and electronics go, they are covered for the first five years of use. Last but not least, the tub and the door liner are covered for a lifetime.
